My drive for this project was to challenge the wearer to rethink about his/her tradition of experiencing objects and art, by re-introducing value of a haptic experience and revealing tactile sensation in my work. The five Haptic rings are created to make people aware of the plurality of their senses of touch- and by that to reconnect them with tactility on a daily basis. With the materiality and shapes, I am giving them new sensorial properties, so that the user has to THINK and consciously FEEL while touching… and with their mobile or textural properties to trigger, please or remind our sense of touch or question its visual correspondence with the tactile aspect of it.
It takes a small effort to become aware that we rely on all of our senses strongly, while referring to them as to instincts. After all, the relation of the body to other bodies is not simply spatial or even simply physical – it is biological.
